A hospital guide for foreigners in China — find, understand & book care in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Official site: huggingface.co/spaces/YueHuLab/ChinaHospitalCare
Everything in China Care is compiled from publicly available sources. We are here to help you organise your options and know what to expect — we are not your doctor, and we do not make decisions for you.
Every entry is checked repeatedly, but we cannot guarantee that all of it is accurate, complete or current. Hospitals change their departments, equipment, registration channels and prices without notice.
Treat what you read here as a lead to verify, not as a fact. Always confirm with the hospital before you travel, register or pay.
Thank you for using China Care ("ChinaCare — Hospitals in China"). China Care is an offline-first hospital directory for international patients in China. The hospital, doctor, department, equipment and price reference data is bundled with the app, so browsing and searching work without a network connection and without creating an account. There is no user-configured account or API — all directory content ships on the device.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does China Care do?
China Care offers five main tabs: Home (quick emergency numbers, city shortcuts and featured hospitals), Find Care (search and filter all 167 hospitals by city, grade, specialty and whether the hospital has an international department), Costs (a cost estimator by hospital and condition, plus the public price reference and your saved estimates), Visit (a step-by-step walkthrough of what happens at a Chinese hospital, plus a bilingual symptom card you can show to staff), and Me (favorites, subscription status and legal links).
Which hospitals and cities are covered?
167 hospitals across eight cities: Beijing (30), Shanghai (27), Guangzhou (24), Shenzhen (18), Chengdu (17), Hangzhou (17), Xi'an (16) and Tianjin (18). Each entry includes the hospital's grade, city, international department, address, department list, and — for Premium subscribers — doctor profiles, equipment, Fudan rankings, reputation, and a passport booking plan.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. The hospital directory, price reference, cost estimator and visit guide all work fully offline from data bundled inside the app. A network connection is only used when you make or restore an in-app purchase through the App Store.
Is China Care medical advice?
No. China Care is a directory and navigation aid. It does not diagnose, does not recommend a treatment, does not prescribe medication, and does not tell you which hospital you "should" choose. Ranking and filtering reflect objective attributes (hospital grade, specialty, distance, English-service availability) — not medical suitability for your condition. Always consult a qualified physician.
Do you take money from hospitals to be listed or ranked higher?
Never. China Care is funded solely by subscriptions. No hospital can pay to be included, to appear higher, or to change its description. We do not sell leads or referral traffic.
How do I register at a hospital with my passport?
Foreign patients generally register in person at the International Department (国际部) or the main registration desk using their passport; many hospitals also offer a WeChat mini-program or a phone booking line. Premium includes a step-by-step passport booking plan for each hospital — booking platforms and account names, opening windows, and what to say at the desk. Free users still see each hospital's address, departments and whether an international department exists.
How accurate are the prices?
The price reference is compiled from publicly published healthcare price lists and is marked as reported, not audited. It is a reference range for orientation and can change without notice. Prices are not a quote or a bill, do not account for your individual case, and must be confirmed with the hospital's billing office. The benchmark comparison shown in onboarding is illustrative only.
What is free, and what requires Premium?
See the comparison below. In short: the free app is a directory; Premium unlocks the information that actually gets you seen.
| Free | China Care Premium |
|---|---|
| Full 167-hospital directory with grade, city and international-department tag | Everything in Free, plus: |
| Search & filter by city, grade and specialty | 1,285 doctor profiles across all hospitals |
| Hospital address, phone and department list | Equipment highlights, Fudan rankings and reputation for every hospital |
| Emergency numbers & the visit walkthrough | A step-by-step passport booking plan for every hospital |
| Favorites | Cost estimates by hospital and condition, with saved estimates & totals |
| A preview of the price reference | The full 26-item public price reference |
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. On your iPhone open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or use the "Manage subscription" link inside the app's Me tab. Cancelling stops the next renewal; it does not retroactively refund the current period.
I found a wrong address or an outdated price. What should I do?
Please email 710354687@qq.com with the hospital name and the field that is wrong. Corrections are reviewed against public sources and shipped in app updates.
Which languages are supported?
The interface is English-first. Where it genuinely helps at the hospital desk, we also show the Chinese term alongside the English one (for example Registration 挂号, Emergency 急诊, International Department 国际部), so you can point at the screen and be understood.
Applies to: China Care ("ChinaCare — Hospitals in China") for iOS, including its auto-renewable subscription.
Core commitment: China Care has no account system, no advertising, no analytics SDK and no tracking. We collect no personal data and transmit nothing off your device.
1. What Data We Collect
Short answer: none. We collect no personally identifiable information (PII).
The entire experience runs on-device and requires no account. Therefore:
2. Data You Enter Yourself
The app lets you save things for your own use — favorites, saved cost estimates, and any symptom or medication notes you type. This content is stored only on your device:
3. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases
China Care Premium is an auto-renewable subscription processed solely by Apple using StoreKit. We never see or store your payment instrument. The products are:
There is no free trial — payment is charged to your Apple Account when you subscribe. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. We only receive confirmation of your entitlement status (subscribed / not subscribed); Apple's transaction records are held by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy.
4. Advertising
There is no advertising anywhere in China Care — not for free users, not for subscribers. We do not sell or share data with advertisers, and we do not sell referral traffic or leads to hospitals.
5. How Data Is Stored
All app data is stored locally on your device:
6. Device Permissions
China Care requests no sensitive device permissions. It does not ask for location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, health data, Bluetooth or local network access. The app's Info.plist declares no usage descriptions because none are needed.
7. Data Sources & Attribution
Hospital, doctor, department, equipment and price information is compiled from publicly available sources: hospital websites and official announcements, publicly published healthcare price lists, publicly reported hospital rankings, and open directories. Every entry is cross-checked, but where a source is not independently audited we say so. This is public reference information about institutions — it is not personal data about you.
7b. Health professionals and your data
Consultant profiles (name, title, department and specialty) are compiled from the hospitals' own publicly published information — the same information the hospital publishes so patients can find the right clinician. We never publish photographs, private contact details, or information about any individual's health.
Corrections and removals. Anyone — a hospital, a clinician, or a patient — can ask us to correct or remove an entry, and we will do so without requiring a reason. Email 710354687@qq.com with the entry and what you want changed. We aim to respond within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
China Care is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Because the app collects no personal data at all, we do not knowingly collect information from children or anyone else. The App Store age rating shown on the product page applies.
9. Availability
China Care is offered internationally on the App Store where the App Store operates, and is designed for visitors, expatriates and international patients in mainland China. The app ships on iPhone.
10. Updates to This Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the app or in App Store requirements. The updated policy is published on this page; continued use constitutes acceptance.

6. Information Accuracy & Third-Party Content
Directory content is compiled from public sources and, where relevant, marked with its provenance. Accordingly:
7. Cost Estimates
The cost estimator multiplies a city-level public price table by condition and hospital type. It produces an indicative range, not a prediction of your bill.
